Born in the province of Quebec, Canada, and having spent more than seventeen years in the United States, Celine J. Dallaire’s rich heritage, allows her to enrich her artwork emerging from that multicultural patrimony. In 1989, her decision to enroll into college to pursue her dream of becoming an artist will change her life forever. Her first two years were primarily concentrated in graphic design and painting which led her to apply for a scholarship at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Georgia, USA. Therefore, from 1991 to 1994, she embarked into a totally new venture. After one semester a professor recommanded her to switch into the Fiber department after seeing her sculptures and her interest in color. That new mysterious field was inspiring and allowed her a wider range of exploration putting her3-D talents and painting skills to profit. Today, her painting skills are more powerful than ever. The influence of her lifestyle has drawn her towards the use of various subject matters immerging primarily from current issues. What continues to fascinate her are the motifs and patterns emerging from everywhere and especially within the architectural and robotic worlds. Today, this fascination continues and she explores new ways of structuring forms and colors. Color has always been an important factor of her exploration and it remains as we speak. Her passion for the art has merited her a couple prizes: the Chocolate Kiss Award, best role model student, award given by the art department of the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC); the Marian Edna Effing Scholarship obtained in 1991 to pursue her studies at SCAD. She graduated Magna Cun Laude and obtained her BFA in 1994. She was awarded the Outstanding Achievements in Fiber for her accomplishments. In 1996, she received her Art Teacher Certification from the Georgia Southern University. She spent two more years in Georgia, teaching in a middle school before moving back to Canada. In 2000, she founded the ACADÉMIE DES ARTS CÉLINE J. DALLAIRE located in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Her private art school specializes in the traditional and modern techniques of painting and drawing . As director, she has presented over twenty art exhibitions representing her student’s artwork. Throughout the years, she had the opportunity to collaborate with many associations such as: the Maison des soins palliatifs de Rouyn-Noranda , the Société du loisir ornithologique de l’Abitibi (SLOA) , the Réseau Biblio Abitibi-Témiscamingue et Nord-du-Québec as well as the Conseil régional de l'environnement Abitibi-Témiscamingue (CREAT) . It's with the collaboration of the SLOA and the CREAT, that in 2014, she presented a solo exhibition representing a subject dear to her heart: the red necked grebe . The exhibit motivated her to publish her very first book representing this aquatic bird nidifying particularly in her own town, considering that it chose Rouyn-Noranda amongs the entire province to settle and raise his family. She serves her community by organizing many art events and by being an engaged member of two art associations: Conseil de la culture de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue (CCAT) et la Fondation du Centre d'exposition de Rouyn-Noranda (FCERN). As a profesionnal artist, she has exhibited her work in Quebec, Ontario and the USA. Her work can be found in public, corporatif and private collections.
